When Your Peeps Want a Photo Op....

You give them a photo op!

Now mind you, I don't live with a professional photographer. Apparently I live with someone who thinks I don't have a top to my head as he chops off the top of my head in almost every photo he takes of me... (perhaps he's just jealous that actually have hair on top of my head??)

Also, we were trying to take these pics quickly before it got dark out and before our quesadillas burned up in the oven. And my photographer is not very patient so there was no "let's see if this background looks nice." It was mostly just "Stand there and I'll take your picture, Chunky." Nice, huh?

So here are the requested photos of me at almost 30 weeks pregnant.. I think I don't actually look that much bigger than I did at 21 weeks but as I can see less of my feet now I know that I am definitely larger.. Oh and I definitely have more "chin" going on... Lovely...

And can those of you who know me well tell that I'm pretty tired in these pics? Helllooooo droopy right eyelid!

Almost 30 Weeks!

Almost 30 Weeks!

Hope you enjoy them more than I do.. I look at these pictures and just think- ugh. yuck. fat. gross. ick.

  1. Oh, Emily, you look beautiful and pregnant. Not fat or gross AT ALL. You do look boobtacular, though, and your belly button's still an innie. Life is good!

  2. Jealous of your innie that`s for sure...mine looked like someone was stiking their thumb out my belly when I was pregnant with my son :)

February: What Shadow Looks Like

(Welcome if you’re coming from Suzanne O'Brien Studio in Northern California!) This month’s group photography theme was “shadow.”  I’ll admit, I had a bit of a hard time with this one.  We’re in the middle of the February doldrums around these parts, and while the sun does shine from time to time it’s cold and blustery and damp most days.  It was tough to get motivated and creative about this, but that’s the whole point of the challenge! The kids and I were in the living room one afternoon and LP was lining his toys up on the windowsill.  The (frigid) afternoon sun was pouring in and I realized that there was a sort of lightbox effect.   I enlisted LP’s help in photographing some of his favorite toys (and one of Eliza’s) so he was the “stylist” for this little photo shoot.  I think if we ever have a dedicated play room I might frame some of these photos for the walls! 10 on 10: August

Here's August's 10 on 10!  It was a quiet day at home with just a trip to the playground to shake things up!  Thought I'd try something new by adding captions to each photo- what do you think?  For some reason they look a little blurry to  me- will have to figure that out for next time! Now head on over to Kate Suzanne Photography in Asheville for her 10 on 10!

A Bit of Sewing….

I’ve been on a sewing kick lately- made a few things for Eliza that I thought I’d share (of course, I also have a list about a mile long of things I really need to get working on for Christmas, but bumped them all to make these little, totally not needed but too cute to resist, pieces…). First up is another Geranium Dress from the pattern by Made by Rae .  The pattern is for a sleeveless dress or one with cap sleeves but I really wanted long sleeves so I drafted my own and they worked out perfectly!  The fabric is a super soft baby corduroy.  I made a mistake and sewed the skirt on the wrong way- instead of picking it all apart though I decided to just cover my seam (which should have been on the inside- whoops, distracted!) with a  fabric band.  I used the same fabric for the lining in the bodice. On the patch pockets I stitched Eliza’s name- it says “Eliza” on one pocket and “Rose” on the other.. I wish I’d used the polkadot pattern for the pockets as I thi...
