I Heart Faces- Let Them Be Little

This week at I ♥ Faces   the theme is Let Them Be Little. LP will be three years old in just a few weeks, and I can't believe how quickly the years have gone... We recently took him on a "Day Out with Thomas" train ride and since it was a rainy day he wore his beloved froggy boots.  He's been wearing this same pair of boots since he was about a year old, and the day he's too big to fit in them any more will be a very sad day indeed- he's growing up too quickly!  Be sure to go to I ♥ Faces to check out the other entries!

Five

Five years ago, on a beautiful October day (one very similar to today, actually!), Paul and I got married. For anyone who might not know, we're one of those couples who met online. Paul was just starting his online dating career, and in fact had only been on one other date when we met. I'd been doing the online thing for a full year, and had pretty much given up on meeting anyone that way. After getting a message from Paul I thought I'd give one last shot to someone a bit outside of my usual dating box- go against my usual type and see what happens. After many emails and several phone calls, we met up at my local neighborhood bar. And as corny as it sounds, it was love at first sight. Our first date was in mid-February, and by April I'd pretty much moved in with him. By June I'd met his brothers and he'd met mine and he proposed. A year and a few months later we were married in the small church that my parents and grandparents were married in and the res

The Truth About Trying

Today Redbook announced that they’ve joined forces with RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association in a new campaign, “ The Truth About Trying ,” to end the secrecy about infertility.   On their website they say, “ One in eight women in the United States will struggle with infertility, so why don’t we talk about it?”   To which I say, “Hear! Hear!!!,”   or perhaps that should be “Here! Here!” As part of their campaign they’ve invited both celebrities and “regular” people to post videos on their site sharing their experiences, thoughts, and feelings about the struggle with infertility.   They’ve also added articles about infertility including the various kinds of treatments , links to infertility blogs , and an article entitled “ The Invisible Pain of Infertility .” I encourage everyone to check this out- even if you haven’t had any problems with infertility, chances are good that you know someone who has- they just might not be vocal about their struggles.   When I started bl

Digital Scrapbook Program Review and GIVEAWAY!!

Last week a lovely lady from My Memories contacted me to ask if I'd be interested in reviewing their My Memories Suite software for digital scrapbooking and hosting a giveaway on my blog. Almost every time I post a digital scrapbook page on my blog someone asks me how they can go about getting started in digital scrapbooking. I usually offer a rambling answer about buying "digital scrapbook supplies" and using Photoshop to create pages. Some of my readers don't have Photoshop though, or aren't comfortable enough with the software to really do much with it so I thought that perhaps the My Memories Suite software would be a good solution. I installed the My Memories Suite software on my computer last week and have been spending some time playing around with it to see what it can do. And I have to say that it's really great! The software makes it very easy to create both single digital scrapbook pages AND full albums! You can use the templates and design
