Something Old...

I'm a little behind on my 30 days of Gratitude Photo Challenge but here's a few. "Nature" "Something Old" For this prompt I took photos of old things that are meaningful to both Paul and I. Paul's father recently gave him an antique surveyors scope which is on display in our bedroom. Since both Paul and his dad are surveyors, this is important to him. My "Something Old" is a photo booth strip of my Nana. It's also on display in our bedroom. I have a few days to catch up on - was distracted by the big birthday party - but I hope to have some photos to share soon!

Gratitude Photos....

Here are days 7-9 of the 30 Days of Gratitude Challenge. Day 7 was "Something Funny." In this house, there's not much that's funnier than our goofy dog Gabby. When she's not amusing us with her ridiculous antics (I'm sure anyone who knows her will agree!) she's usually to be found with at least her head buried under a blanket. If she hears a noise she'll jump up and run around, dragging the blanket behind her. Day 8 was "Favorite Color." I happened to be wearing one of my favorite shirts which has some of my current favorite colors in it so snapped a self-portrait in the bathroom mirror. You can also sort of see my Common Thread bracelet which I purchased recently. The pomegrante thread of the bracelet was chosen to "identify and create community between those experiencing infertility as well as create a starting point for a conversation." The stones on the bracelet are all meant to have fertility enhancing properties. We...

Sunday....

Yesterday's photo prompt for the 30 Days of Gratitude Challenge was "morning sun." I sort of forgot about it (shame!  Only 5 days in!) until I was taking a walk in the late morning.  It had been a rough start to the day with LP- he's very defiant these days and none of our discipline seems to work- and I desperately needed to get out of the house and get some "me" time in.  Paul took over and I headed out for a brisk walk in the chilly weather.  A few minutes in I realized I hadn't taken my daily photo yet and quickly snapped this one with my phone: That's the morning sun and a UFO apparently.  I was feeling a bit possessed and not myself so perhaps I was abducted by aliens?  Or perhaps my well-behaved child was abducted and replaced by a back-talking little stinker?   Today's prompt was "books."  LP and I have shelves and shelves of books all over the place - Paul isn't a big reader although he has a few with titles like "Wiri...

Ugh...

Not sure what to say today. Both my Pauls are sick with nasty colds, and I'm not sure who's harder to deal with - the toddler or the grown-up. This healthy mama is sick of wiping noses and making chicken noodle soup. The only adult interaction I've had since Wednesday was with the cashier at CVS when I went on a tissues and cough medicine run (oh and by the way there don't seem to be any cold/flu medicines for almost-3-year-olds, everything is for 4 and up. I did find a homeopathic Similisan version though that is safe for 2 and up and seems to be helping). Today we all needed to get out of the house so we went to Target to infest everything there with our germs - woo hoo! And tonight I'm planning to spend my Saturday evening organizing my coupon binder (yes I'm a couponing geek with a binder).... Such an exciting life I lead! But then, when I'm feeling down about how dull our life is (at least this weekend) and how sucky it is to be the sole healthy p...

30 Days of Gratitude

I'm sure some of you have noticed that some of your friends are posting on Facebook something they're thankful for every day this month. Recently I came across a pin on my favorite site, Pinterest , that was a link to "Zoom in on Gratitude: 30 Day Photo Challenge" on the positively present blog. I figured hell, why not add one more thing to my to do list every day through the month of November and take on this photo challenge as well? I'll be sharing some of my photos here. Today I took photos for days 1 and 2 since I missed the first day. Day 1 was "Favorite Food" and today's prompt is "Smile." "Favorite Food" was an easy one to decide on- everyone who knows me knows that I'm obsessed with peanut butter. So I pulled out all the peanut butter jars in the house to get a shot: Yup, that's right. 7 different kinds of peanut butter. Plus some duplicates in the pantry. And not including the 2 different kinds of peanut b...
