Wowsers... 30 weeks.. That means 10 to go.. Which means 70 days.. Which is 9 weekends from now. And we have things planned for at least 2 of those weekends... I'm starting to freak out a little as it's going so quickly!!!
This week I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday, I think this may be the last of my monthly checkups and I'll have to start going every other week at this point. We also start our Childbirth classes at the hospital on Wednesday nights.. They're from 7-9 every Wednesday in October so I'm crossing my fingers that Paul and I can actually stay awake that late!
Here's the 30 week update...
"Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)"
What's crazy to me is that it took 7.5 months for the baby to get to 3 pounds, and now in the next 2.5 months he'll grow to 6 pounds or thereabouts- so much for my "innie" and being able to see my toes I think!
Ok baby is kicking (as he does all day and night long- I'm not anticipating that this little guy will be sleeping a lot once he's out and about) and telling me it's time to hit the train and head home to Daddy and the Girls (aka dogs)... So I'm out like trout!
