I ♥ Faces - Oh So Silly

This week at I ♥ Faces   the theme is "Oh So Silly."  I thought this photo of LP giving himself a "snow bath" fit the challenge.   Moments later I was given my own "snow bath."       Be sure to go to I ♥ Faces to check out the other entries!

The Pits...

Since the holidays I have fallen into a pit of exhaustion.  I'm in recovery mode from too much activity and as a result have been neglecting the old blog.   I haven't been neglecting my camera though, and am really enjoying learning how to use all of its great features.  Here's a little peek at this week's events: LP is still doing well with his potty-training.  I still wouldn't say he's 100% there as we have the occasional accident but he's in undies most of the time (and yes, about half the time he has them on backwards but at least he's learned to put them on himself!) We've enjoyed a lot of family time, here LP and Paul are playing a Toy Story game on the computer: And we spend the majority of our time (when we're not at work, cleaning, eating, sleeping) playing Toy Story.  LP continues to be completely obsessed and keeps asking when we can invite Andy from Toy Story over to play. On Friday my college roomie and bff came to visit with her two...

Christmas- Part 4 (The Final Chapter)

So we're nearing the end of January (already?!?!?) and I realized I haven't shared any photos of our final Christmas related event: our trip to Las Vegas with Paul's parents to visit his brothers and their families. Don't want you to feel like you're missing out on all the excitement so here we go: With a three year old in the house we knew we wanted to be home for Christmas.  So we decided to head to Vegas on December 27 and stay for a week.  LP did great on the six hour flight out there (although the whole not quite completely potty-trained child on a full flight with teeny tiny airplane bathrooms was a nightmare) and jumped right into playing with his 5 year old cousin as soon as we arrived... The first night there we had our fourth and final Christmas- the kids ripped into the pile of presents so quickly that I'm still not sure who gave LP half of the gifts he received! The next day we spent mainly at the local playground- we were all a bit jetlag...

I Heart Faces- Best Face of 2011

This week at I ♥ Faces   the theme is "Best Face of 2011." I took 3,894 photos in 2011.  Actually, I probably took at least twice that many- those were just the ones that were good enough to keep!  Trying to choose my "Best Face of 2011" out of almost 4000 photos was pretty hard!  I have so many favorites! Ultimately though (and not suprisingly), I chose one of LP that I took of him playing in his sandbox.  I love the angle, the sparkle in his eyes, and the expression on his face- it's very typically LP!   Be sure to go to I ♥ Faces to check out the other entries!

Christmas.... Part 3

For the first time in all of the years we've been together, Christmas was just us, at home.  Three people and two dogs, and it was fabulous.  We missed having extended family around but it was also so nice to just celebrate with our little family.   Christmas Eve we combined LeBaron and Walters traditions.  For the LeBaron side we ate appetizers for dinner and each opened one present.  For the Walters side we read the Night Before Christmas (the Random House books for Young Readers edition , published in 1975- the same version my dad always reads).  Everyone (including dogs but excepting the photographer) piles onto the same couch.  We still have some extra space on ours! We added a new tradition of also reading A Christmas Goodnight  which was published this year and tells the nativity story. The next morning we were all up pretty early!  Paul and I were actually too excited to sleep and woke up at about 6, giving us time to...
