T- 3 Days!

Yikes!  Baby Sister's arrival is coming up quickly!  I'm home on maternity leave now and am just waiting to go.  Had my final doctor's appointment on Friday and was told that I'm dilated to 2 cms which is farther than I ever got with LP, even after being induced.   The doctor said they'd see me Friday morning as scheduled or earlier!  Of course, now every time I feel any sort of twinge I wonder if I'm about to go into labor.  I'd be more than happy if she decided to arrive a little early but Paul is pretty stressed with work lately and prefers that I stick to the schedule.  So we'll see!  Either way, she'll be here by Friday morning at the latest! I've pretty much gotten everything done that I wanted to.  I still have a little cleaning to do (I can't leave the house for a few days without vacuuming, cleaning the bathrooms, and mopping the floor)- even though I know nothing will be as clean as I left it when I get back anyway.  But my bag...

Oh, How Things Change...

The last time the summer Olympics were on, I was, coincidentally, pregnant with LP.  And while I remember lying in bed next to Paul watching the swimming competitions, talking about how maybe our kid would be in the Olympics one day, I was mostly focused on one thing:  MUSCLES.  Specifically, the six-packs (and eight-packs) on some of those swimmers.  I even blogged about my obsession.   And yes, I can't lie, I've certainly enjoyed the view this time as well...  I mean, really, I'm not dead, and there were abs all over the place... But this time around, I've been watching the summer Olympics through new eyes.  This time around, with another baby kicking me from the inside, and LP on the outside watching with us, I'm watching as a parent.  And the parts I love the most?  When they show mom and dad, brother and sister, friends and relatives in the stands cheering on their kids.  I love seeing the different ways that the parents watch- som...

I ♥ Faces: Pets

This month at I ♥ Faces   the theme is "Pet Faces."  And so, of course, I give you a photo of the Gabster.  This is a classic Gabby face- one ear sticking straight up, a bit of a smile, running towards us as she thought we were going to give her a treat...   Be sure to go to I ♥ Faces to check out the other entries!

T minus 23 Days

So a date has been decided.  Unless I go into labor earlier I'll be having a repeat c-section on Friday, August 24th.  Yikes!  So soon!  One of the doctors at the practice I go to thought I should go for a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) but the doctor who was actually there when I had LP and who did my first c-section thought it was unlikely that I'd be successful at it due to what happened the last time around.  And so Baby Sister will be here soon! I now feel like I'm in a bit of a time crunch trying to get everything ready.  The nursery is all set but we still need to clean and install the infant carseat, get the swing and some other things out of storage and cleaned up, and generally get organized.  I'd hoped to get some freezer meals made but that might be one of the things that gets scratched off my list.  Anyway, my in-laws love to cook and bring us food and Paul can cook (probably better than I can) so I'm sure we'll survive.......
